I need to know why do american cars most of the time only last til about 140,000 miles or so? Why do foreign cars go for 230k easy? I do realize that some American cars go for much longer then 140k, and some foreign cars don't go for long. But of the majority, American cars, do NOT last as long as foreign cars. Why? Is that bad engine parts used on American cars? Do foreign cars have different types of metal for the parts? Such as some of the Honda's have aluminum heads. Help! So I changed the radiator, radiator fan, thermostat and water pump from my car. I noticed it was overheating so when I opened my hood (WITH THE CAR ON) I realized that BOTH of my fans are not working. I tried turning on the A.C and the fan still did not turn on, its not moving, neither one of the fans are turned on and everything is plugged in correctly because after I changed all the parts I saw them turn on perfectly well. What do you think could be the reason as to why BOTH fans do not want to turn on? Please Help ME! I'm not a mechanic but I know about cars and this situation is driving me bonkers! I am considriring buying a new bike, I want to ride mx and also fmx but also take the bike out for a day on the farm and do some play riding, trail riding… I don't know if you can ride long distances with the yz125 without cuasing damage to the engine. Long distance meaning a on the farm, not from one city to the other. Then, the servicing, I probaly wouldnt service her after a day of play riding. Only after serious mx races, would that damage the bike? (i will check the oil and water before every ride, don't have problem with that.) Over the past few months my family has had ALOT of hardship due to the health problems facing our single mother of six. Hours ago, her car was repossessed. Our only car currently; it gets me and my siblings to school every morning 20 minutes away(we don't have access to a bus.) Long story short, the rude repo man got fed up with my 11 year old brothers mouth while he was putting her AWD Honda Pilot on his truck. This man says to my brother "I m going to make sure your mother doesn't get her car back" and my brother says "She will watch us." Then he goes "Not without tires you aren t." I would really like to put in a vertical exhaust pipe from the header straight out of the hood.It is a 91 corolla with a 4a-fe 1.6 L engine. I spoke to a driver at a demolition derby who had a corolla with the same engine and he had a hood stack exhaust pipe. He said it was a direct fit manifold from a honda motor just flipped upside down. He didn't specify what honda it was off of though. Any ideas on a manifold that would fit on this motor upside down?It is an offset bolt pattern.Trying to keep away from having to cut and weld my own together. I was driving about an hour with the ac and noticed a rise in the thermostat but it went back down a few times. At one point it got to the danger zone but went down quickly. There I knew there was a problem. Again it went to the danger zone so I decided to stop but I waited for an exit; I would say I drove 1 maybe 1.5 miles before I took the exit on the freeway. The car had burned through the coolant and was making a bad noise where the reserve coolant tank is and shaking it slightly. I filled it with water and drove back, which was about 95 miles to get home and it went fine. I am gonna get it checked before replacing with 50/50 coolant. I'm worried that extra driving caused something serious. Yes I'm an idiot for not stopping immediately, I'm a young driver. Again, the car drove perfectly fine after filling with water for 95 miles. Looked at a 2011 Honda Accord Euro today from a dealer, not many Kms, only 60,000. Everything seems in good condition. But on inspecting the engine, I noticed there had been pink paint applied around the oil cap and oil dip-stick. I asked the dealer why it was there and he seemed baffled, he said maybe the previous owner had applied it to clearly show his gf where the oil went Pfft. Everything else with the car seems fine, took it for a decent 10min test drive and didn't notice anything. Have no clue why someone would spray paint those areas. I have a Honda Civic LX 2002 and I am having issues with my car overheating. My temperature gauge fluctuates, when I am at a complete stop my car will start to overheat but once I accelerate my car starts to cool down. Now, my first instinct was to change the thermostat, which I did but it's still giving me the same issues. I have check to see if the radiator or any of the hoses were leaking because everytime i drive i have to add coolant to the raditor but nothing, nothing leaks out. I don't know where to go from here, and I am getting tired of adding coolant to the radiator every single time I have to drive. Any suggestions? I've got a 1993 Honda Accord 2.2L L4 with 201k miles. Burns absolutely zero oil, perfect engine compression, silky smooth and quiet, but has some oil leakage. Instead of running recommended 5w30 oil, would it be acceptable to run 5w20 or 0w20 + Bar's Stop Leak (gasket seal) to prevent oil leakage? My car leaks a crap-ton of oil (up to a quart every 400 miles) - except with stop leak, in which case it leaks zero. I need the stop leak to prevent massive oil leakage, and cannot fix the gaskets themselves right now. Would 0w20 (plus additive) be better than 5w30 to prevent the oil weight from going too high? I have a 2000 honda cr250r, one day i went to start it and it started up idling what sounded like full RPM, it was screaming like crazy, kill switch wouldnt kill it, managed to put it in gear and drop the clutch to shut it off. Started it a few days later and it was fine, then just the other day i was riding and hit a small jump, when i landed the bike took off and i fell off the back, it drove on its own for a good 30-50ft until it fell over, but while it was leaning on its side it was idling at the full RPM again, and couldnt get it shut off with the kill switch. Went to start it a few minutes later and same thing happened with the bike screaming at crazy high rpm, my buddy did a few adjustments to it and it seemed okay enough to drive it back to the truck and bring it into the shop, my reed boot needs to be replaced because of split in the rubber, but i can't figure out why this would have happened, and want to find a solution because its scary as hell when it happens and is dan...

Hi guys, The last time I had my battery replaced the emissions data failed to register and after 3 failed and inconvenient attempts at the testing site, I ended up shelling out $130 at a repair shop to have the reset done after which the car passed the emissions test. I m in the same situation a few years later now, the battery was recently replaced and I need to get The emissions tested again. I ve read on some threads there's a fuse that can be pulled and replaced after 30 seconds, is that something I can do myself to ensure a successful emissions test without having to spend all that money at a repair shop? We have a 2002 Honda Civic. Mileage is good but we were having problems with the car battery constantly dying and so we replaced the original one with a brand new one around 6 weeks ago. The new one has died on us twice so far, once was the week after we put in the new one but it was because we forgot the GPS plugged in, which our guess is that was the cause. We were able to get that issue by having a kind neighbor jump start us. I just replaced my alternator with a mechanic a friend of mine recommended. When I went to pick up the car, I noticed a 'ticking' when the car fired up that wasn't there before. This bike sat in someones yard in the rain for years. Got it for $50 and have it running. Yesterday I drained all brake fluid from the master cylinder to the left side brake caliper. I bled it all out because I needed to clean the master cylinder of grime. Now the front brakes are locked and the wheel won't rotate. When I bled my Honda Shadow's brakes, atleast the front wheel moved if necessary during the process. Does anyone know what could be wrong? Are the brake calipers pistons stuck and need to be unpried? Ok, so I love my new car so far. However most songs that play make the back end of the car rattle like crazy if I have the subwoofer turned up. I took it back to the Honda dealership and they just recommend that I keep the subwoofer setting all the way down to fix the problem. That works and all however that doesn't really fix the problem because I didn't buy the Touring model with the 450 watt sound system with subwoofer to not even use it. That would be silly. So that being the case, I'm planning on bringing it back into the dealership to have them fix the rattle without playing with my sound settings. IM NEW TO DIRT BIKES AND WANT TO LEARN. I recently bought a used 04 crf250r. Everything was fine first couple of rides. Even the test drive was perfect. Started up fine shifted right and everything. Few weeks have past and now when I kick start it in neutral, put it in fist and it dies. Turn the chock on and it ll crank and idle in first. But without that it don't want to stay crunk. I had put a post up before about my situation but i think left somethings out. Long story short my car died on the highway. Pulled over once it started back up. Went half a mile it did a slight clunk and died. This time i when tried to start it, it sounded like a power drill. Did research its not the starter because i see everything moving when its cranking, the distributor rotor isn't spinning, but i see the cams moving thru the oil cap but it still sounds like a power drill.
