So I'm very mechanically inclined a d have always worked on my own cars. My credit just got better so I bought a brand new 2018 honda accord. My question is will doing all the maintenance work myself void the warranty. It is about due for a oil change and they want $69.99. I can do it for half that price. Along with everything else. 2001 Honda Accord, 4D,216,000 miles: just had a couple of seals beneath motor replaced (slight oil drip when parked overnight) along with water pump, and timing belt. So today while turning on the car my wheel was more stiff than usual to the point where I had to use extra strength to pull out my parking spot. But then after driving it for 10 seconds it returned back to normal. I drove it for the rest of the night no problem and no stiffness at all. I'm currently shopping for my first car and I get a lot of recommendations for cars from family and friends but they're mundane, boring cars like Honda Civic, Honda Accord, Nissans, Toyotas, etc. I pretty much am set on a luxury car such as Acura (which is actually made by Honda), Lexus (made by Toyota), or Audi. It's a 2004 Honda CRV-EX AWD with 200K miles. It's a 1 owner car (elderly woman) that was serviced at proper time (she has records). It was mainly driven on the highway. I know this woman personally. It drives nice, its still very peppy. The oil, radiator fluid and transmission fluid looks clean and doesn't sel burnt. The interior is clean, but the exterior has some dents and scratches. Started my Motorcycle but forgot to turn on the fuel line. Once I notice I forgot I turned it on then got on it and started driving down the road. Then when I was at a stop light it started to bog down. I put the choke on and then it stalled out. Now it want start and if i turn the fuel line on fuel streams out of the over flow lines from the bottom of the bike. The bike turns over fine. Sounds like is getting spark. Just no fuel. The entire back hinge of the armrest broke off so now the back of it is exposed which is a safety hazard and just looks terrible. Here is the story. Last year our Honda broke down. We took it to a shop and he tells us it is the transmission. We decide to take it to the shop that we have taken the car to since we bought it in 2013. I'm %100 against this I have been against going to them since the second time they put an engine in the car but it is not mine it is my boyfriends so ultimately his decision. They take a look and decide it is the transmission as well. We pay 1800 for them to fix it. When we get the car back we had it a few days then the same thing happened to it that happened to it when it stopped working. We take it back they work on it we get it back, less then a week later it does the same thing. We take it back and they take it to a Honda dealership who decide it is the brain and that 1500 dollars might fix it. I recently bought a 2016 Honda CRV AWD for my wife for her work in January and it had 16.8k on it when I bought it. According to the design of the car, I'm supposed to change the oil when the service reminder (wrench) light goes off. My wife because of her work has 24.8k on it now. I feel like I really need to change the oil, but the dealer is saying to wait until the oil life on the dash is between 15 and 20 percent. The oil life on the dash is currently at 30 percent. So I did the timing belt and water pump and there was a strange noise, I took the whole car apart to find that the new water pumps bearing was making some noise. So I went and got a new one under warranty and I'm hearing this sound again. Is there some special way to install the water pump that I'm missing? Can over tightening it cause this issue? Is it because I bought a duralast water pump instead of a genuine Honda part? I think I have an issue, I have a manual Honda Civic 2010. I noticed that when I'm already in gear, like already switched to second for example and I'm cruising just say from 22mph and then naturally slows down to 19mph so I press the gas a little to go back to 22 I hear a single like clunk noise and as soon as I let go of the gas I hear another clunk. My 2006 Honda Civic w/ 1.8l engine has a rough idle. I replaced the passenger motor mount and spark plugs, but no luck. When warm it idles around 550-600 rpm and will dip down to 500 or even lower. It feels like it is about to stall, but goes back up to 550-600, like a hiccup. I checked the air filter and it was clean. I cleaned the MAF sensor, but no measurable difference. The old spark plugs were a little dark (dry soot). Just noticed valve cover is leaking too. Car was sitting for a few months. No check engine light.
