I have a 2016 CRV AWD. How often do I change my oil?

I recently bought a 2016 Honda CRV AWD for my wife for her work in January and it had 16.8k on it when I bought it. According to the design of the car, I'm supposed to change the oil when the service reminder (wrench) light goes off. My wife because of her work has 24.8k on it now. I feel like I really need to change the oil, but the dealer is saying to wait until the oil life on the dash is between 15 and 20 percent. The oil life on the dash is currently at 30 percent. This goes against all my car common sense maintenance instincts. How often should I change it or do I just listen to my dealership because they know the car?
