Honda Accord or Acura TLX?

Which car is better? My mom is looking for something to replace her 2005 Mercury Grand Marquis, which is becoming unreliable and beset with transmission issues to the point where it's becoming increasingly unsafe to drive. We re leaning towards the Accord because it's cheaper, but is the TLX worth the extra cost?
