What's happens to a car if you shut off the engine while you're stepping on the gas pedal?

I have this 2002 Honda Accord I was playing around with that got sold for scrap. I was wondering what would happen if I held the gas pedal at about 4,000 RPMs and then proceed to shutoff the car while holding it at 4,000 rpms. I tried this, nothing bad seemed to have happened. The engine rpms quickly climbed down and the engine shut off like it should. I started the car again and everything seemed normal. Does this actually harm anything if you do this?
