Is it true that children generally do not know if they are rich or poor?
I have heard someone say this and I doubt it. My parents are very wealthy and I knew that I had more resources. I knew that my summer vacations were fancier than some kids. On the other hand, I had a few friends from very poor families. They knew WHY their parents worked 24/7 and WHY they almost always only had a one-room basement as shelter. I think children will eventually notice some differences between them and their peers. Unless you shelter your child, they will find out that others have some things differently. I'm sure celebrity children know that they have same-aged counterparts who are not famous. Kids who are middle class probably know that not everyone lives in a medium-sized home with parents who have a Benz or a Honda.
