Will this hurt the car?

I'm 16 my parents won't let me have a manual tranny even tho i'm a huge car enthusiast!, and i usually drive around their 2016 honda hrv which has a cvt with L gear S gear (sport mode) and D i usually start in L then shift to S then to D because its the closest i can get to a manual i'm wondering if its bad
