What is wrong with my car? - 3

Ok so I drive a five speed 2002 Honda Civic lx. I was driving it one day and I couldn t get over 20 mph without the rpms shooting yo way high. So I pulled over and opened the hood and there was this little rubber housing, smaller than an apple. That had smoke coming from it and it smelled burnt and bad. There's some sort of metal part in the rubber housing but I'm not a car guy so i don't know what it is. Anyway, its lower to the ground and closer to the front, and it's across from this fan that s behind the front bumper. I can't for the life of me figure out what's wrong. There aren t any noises when I drive, I just have to feather the gas in a low gear or my rpms shoot up like crazy. I can't even drive it anymore. I jammed my finger in the rubber housing and it came out smelling like it did when o pulled over and there was smoke, and my finger was all black. Please help me.

Fuel filter leaking after replacement?

I have a 1996 Honda Accord, the fuel filter was dirty so my boyfriend decided to change it. Now sometimes the gas sprays or leaks in the new filter also leaking from the washers as well. We used a flare wrench and tried tightening it for hours. Put the old fuel filter on and it still does it, and old washers and still does it. What could possibly be causing this? My car is overheating and I can't find out why?

I bought an old 96 Honda Civic from a friend and it's been sitting for while. It's been started every month or two. He told me it runs and drives but overheats and he can't find out why. I've changed the thermostat and the radiator and after the car warms up for a bit it still overheats and coolant even boils in the overflow tank. 2012 Honda Civic Engine Done?

So my mom drives a 2012 Honda Civic Lx. I was driving it home from work last night and about 2 minutes from home, the Check Oil Levels light came on, immediately after that the engine emitted a constant and loud rattling noise and eventually, like 500ft from home, the car stalled out completely, I got it started again to make it back home, I didn't take it over 25 after the rattling started. We checked the oil and it was bone dry, my mom got it done in February and still has the receipts. We put 3qts in, it's a 3.9qt tank, it sounds slightly better and doesn't stall out but still that constant rattling like the car is going to fall apart at any moment. Is my mom's car done for? How much should I sell my motorcycle with a blown engine for?

I have a 2004 Honda shadow spirit 750 with a blown motor. I don't know exactly what's wrong with it, i just know that there's zero compression in one cylinder and almost zero in the other. It has been sitting in a barn for 3 years and is pretty dirty. I'm going to sell it for parts and was wondering what a reasonable price would be.
