Should I buy this car? Will is be reliable?

Basically I'm looking to upgrade from my current car to something more reliable. My budget is $4000 and I came across a 2007 Civic Coupe LX(Manual Transmission) for $3500. It has 173k miles on it and that concerns me but I know it's a Honda and all. I'll mostly be using it to commute to and from college in October and regular daily use. I'll be putting about 700 miles per month off of commuting from college in October but I also baby my cars. Anyways should I buy it if the car seems alright? (Down the road I plan to do basic mods like exhaust and coilovers and all that.) Here's the link:
