Why do people race Honda civics?

I by no means am bias against imports or Honda I know they are quality but I don't understand why people make them into race cars.

-fwd = terrible for launches and difficult to overseer for drifting

-4 cylinders = they have terrible power unless you invest a tun of money to make it as fast a stock v6 or v8. If you put the same amount of money in a v6/v8 it would kill. Even with all the mods an a 4cy it will never beat a modded v6/v8

-Roll rate. These machines are high off the ground stock and you need to invest a tun of money lowing it just to make it handle right. Why not buy a car that is already built to handle.

-Vtec; is a economy feature to save gas at low rmp not a turbo charger. Most muscles and even trucks already have 3 valves constantly.

Fun fact. The reason these imported cars have low hp to start is because in japan etc. They have a heavy tax on large engine liters making powerful cars extremely expensive. Therefore to bend the rule they keep the engines small and add modes to make them fast.

Muscles cars in a america are known to not handle as well in the 70s 80s but the new ones will out handle any Honda stock and since they already have the right suspension.Strong frames, forged pistons, rear wheel drive stock they are extremely easy to make them faster and handle better with less expense.

bmws etc are in their own category. They are expensive from the start and expensive at the end after the mods and usually so hard to mod owners pay for a professional to do it instead of doing the work them self. But if you have money then go for it.

Subs are right in between, great handling and great power from the start and relatively easy to mod. But honda civics? I don't get it.
